Stimulating the five senses (Visual Sense, Auditory Sense, Gustatory Sense, Olfactory Sense, and Tactile Sense) at the early stage of a child can promote the development of various encephalic regions. In turn, the development of the brain leads to the enhancement of all-round ability.

早期对儿童的五感(视、听、触、味、嗅)刺激促进各个脑区的发育,脑的发育进而触发全面能力的提升。

Synapse Connections

大脑突触密度变化

◎ 孩子一出生就有1000亿个神经元,但是都是相对独立的。后期的亲身体验,才能激发神经元间突触的联结。

New born baby has 100 billion neurons, but they are relatively independent. Later daily experiences

stimulate the synaptic connections between neurons.

◎ 因此,体验越多,突触网络越密,大脑回路越快,反应就会越快。重复次数越多,突触就会更加稳固。

Therefore, the more experience, the denser the synaptic network, the faster the brain loop, the faster the response. The more repetitions, the more stable synaptic connection.

◎ 两岁孩子的大脑突触网络增加很多,成人突出网络却变得没那么密集可是突触联结更粗壮。说明突触会用进废退,重复体验会使突触联结更加粗壮,更加坚固,若不再重复或者重复不够,突触就会消退。

The density of synaptic network in two-year-old child’s brain increases a lot, as well adult’s synaptic network has become less dense but synaptic connections are stouter. In accordance with the theory of evolution, repeated experience will make synapses connections stronger,if not repeat or repeat enough, synapses network will be pruned.

Sensitive Periods In Early Brain Development

大脑发育的敏感期

◎ 6岁线—在这个线右边,变化趋向平稳或者下降,意味着孩子大脑6岁后敏感度没有6岁前高,所以0-6岁很重要

Blue Line(6-year-old line) - on the right side of the line, the trends of the lines decline and then keep stable which means that the sensitivity of child’s brain after 6 years old is less sensitive than that of before 6 years old and which indicates that 0-6 years old is a critical period for children’s development.

◎ 峰值—2-3岁是峰值,这时候孩子大脑对各方面的学习刺激都很敏感,所以0-3岁更重要。如果在峰值前,敏感度上升的阶段给予合理刺激,会事半功倍;如果在峰值后下降阶段,则事倍功半。

Oval area -2 to 3 years old is the most sensitive period in which the sensitivity of all aspects of the brain reaches a peak. It will be more effective if the child’s brain get appropriate stimulating before the peak.

◎ 1岁前—除了视觉和听觉一出生敏感度就很高,其他因素的敏感度都从低到高上升非常剧烈。

Before 1 year old - The sensitivity of visual and auditory is very high and the sensitivity of other factors rise dramatically.

◎ 社交和数学的敏感度2岁以后上升剧烈,在3-3.5岁到达峰值。

Social and mathematical sensitivity increase after 2 years old and reach a peak at about three and half years old.
